I typically start my day with a green smoothie, but I usually include half a teaspoon of peppermint extract. It’s the secret ingredient that makes my green smoothie taste like a mint ice cream shake—and it can soothe an upset stomach!
Green Smoothie Recipe:
1 whole frozen banana
1/2 an Avocado
1/2 Teaspoon Peppermint extract OR 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 cup of fresh spinach
1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
1/2 Cup Homemade Almond Milk (recipe below)
1 Teaspoon Organic Honey
Place all the ingredients in a blender and make sure you get it nice and smooth! You don’t need to add ice if you are using a banana it gives it that frozenness you need! I love this smoothie and it keeps me full till lunch!
Homemade Almond Milk – Super Easy!
1 cup not roasted, plain almonds
4 cups filtered water
1 Nut Bag or Cheese Cloth
Place almonds in a large bowl, cover with water and let soak 12-24 hours. Strain the water out and put the almonds in a blender with 4 cups filtered water, Blend till the almonds have pretty much turned into tiny pieces probably about 1-2 minutes depending on the strength of your blender. Strain nuts into a glass container with lid and store in the fridge for up to 4 days! Also is great as a substitute for milk like cereal or coffee!
