Babies-R-Us Price Match

This may be something a lot of people know, but I just learned it and I am so glad I did! I was at Laylas 4 month update and the doctor recommend that she not be laying anymore on her back that she needs to be in activity centers and items that keep her busy. So I ran up to Babies-R-Us to see what things they had for her. I found a Baby Einstein activity center I thought was cool, they had it for $99.99 and I found it on Amazon for $76.98. I went to the register and I double checked that they price matched and sure enough they do with any vendor anywhere. I showed  her the amazon.com site and she entered it in her computer for $76.98 woohoo!! I also had a few other items I thought well I might as well look these up too, and they all came up cheaper online, I ended up saving over $50 thanks to price matching. This was just something I learned and I thought I would pass it on to all y’all! Happy shopping!!

4 Month Update

Our little pumpkin is 4 months, I can’t believe it, we couldn’t imagine our life without her she has for sure completed it! We had our doctors appointment yesterday and things went so well. She is in the 25% for height, weight and head circumference. She weighs 12.8 pounds and is almost 24 inches long 😃  She got 2 shots one in each leg and one in her mouth she did so good! The doctor gave us the OK for rice cereal so we started that last night she is supposed to eat 2-3 teaspoons once a day for a week then twice a day on week 2. Layla did really well and ate 2 teaspoons of rice cereal, then drank 2oz of formula and passed out at 7:30pm and slept till 3:30. I ordered Layla’s rice cereal from http://www.formulaland.com it’s by a brand called Holle and she seemed to of loved it.

She rolled over for the first time a couple weeks ago and loves blowing drooly bubbles. She has also discovered her thumb/hand. I’m not sure if that is a good thing (being able to help soothe herself) or bad thing (when we have to try to break the habit later down the road).
She is still in her crib and has been doing so awesome in it, we have not had one problem since we moved her in it at 2 months. I think the trick is the sooner the better getting them into it! She is so smiley and talks so much it’s been so much fun these last 4 months I can’t imagine how much better it will get she’s our treasure.

BOB Jogging Stroller

We recently purchased a BOB jogger the SE model and I am so excited to try it out! I have heard the Bob Revolution SE is one of the BEST jogging strollers on today’s market. It is full of great features like huge canopy, roomy padded seat, and easy fold. It has plenty of storage including large basket, two mesh pockets inside of the seat, and a large pocket in the back of the seat.

The 16″ air filled tires and state-of-the-art adjustable suspension system provide an exceptionally SMOOTH ride. It is very easy to navigate and will go through any uneven surface. The swivel front wheel can be locked straight for jogging or unlocked for walk in a park.

It’s designed for children from 3 months up to 70 lbs! With this weight limit, it will last you for a very LONG time! If you want to use this stroller from birth, all you need a car seat adapter that can be purchased separately. The Revolution SE weighs 25 lbs which is pretty average weight for jogger.

I am looking forward to taking Layla on a jog in this! I am going to look into the car adaptor today because she is not even 4 months yet and I don’t think I can wait another 4 1/2 months to use this puppy!

If you are thinking about buying it, look around for the best price. The price ranges from $330 –  $449 depending on the color and the seller. You can buy it for around $330 on Amazon (free shipping/free returns and no sales tax). Of course, I don’t know how long it will stay at this price. The double version is also available and retails for around $500.

Energy Ball Snacks

These little balls of joy are my go to snack! They are packed full of great stuff like rolled oats, almond butter and cranberries! I make a large batch on Sunday and store them in the fridge and eat 1-2 a day for the next week when I get the urge for a mid day snack.

Peanut-Butter-Cranberry-Granola-Bites-title

Ingredients:

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup almond butter or peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Heat the honey and peanut butter in a small saucepan until melted and creamy. Stir in the vanilla. Pour over the oats and cranberries in a bowl. Stir until everything is coated.
  2. Press the mixture very firmly into an 8×8 pan that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Let it cool completely. Cut into 16 even bars. Eat this way or squeeze each bar tightly in your fist to a round granola bite. Makes 16 granola bites. Store in a sealed container in the fridge.
